ENVI™ and ZED Zero Emission Vehicles

ZEV and ZET Conversion Kit Premise
ZED Inc has developed conversion kits, which are designed to be compatable with your existing vehicles, replacing its internal combustion engine (ICE), but utilizing the transmission, suspension, brakes, and other key components of existing cars and trucks. ZED Inc is the parent company of ENVI™which is developing the first Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) pickup truck, named the Cav, which has advanced safety and performance not available in existing vehicles. The Cav is designed for easy conversion to a cross-over vehicle that we have renamed, cross-over alternative vehicle (CAV) to point out the revolutionary new technology. ZEV car and smaller vehicle conversions, and ZET truck, delivery van, and large truck conversions, are expected to be available soon as ZEV variations developed by ZED (our acronym for Zero Emission Drives).
Whether you own 1 ten-year-old vehicle or a fleet of several hundred vehicles of varying ages and roadability, the efficiency of converting from ICE power to ENVI™ power with an economical ZEV or ZET kit is a compelling argument to go electric. Estimates of vehicles that would be converted to Zero Emissions and lowered cost of transportation suggest that >150 million cars, trucks, delivery vehicles, and virtually all propelled equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, motor scooters) that use internal combustion engines for operation (>15 billion estimated) can be rapidly converted at a cost that will repay the conversion in 2 years--or less. The ZED conversion kits, in variations for specfically for your ICE truck or car, to be installed by local vehicle service experts, are planned to be quickly accessible for virtually all vehicles now in use.
Electric vehicles have been waiting for engineering of an acceptable operating range of 100-200 miles or more. That time is here! Range of the model specific series of ZEV and ZET conversions will be 600 miles! That is the basic model; extended range options will allow over 1200 miles between refuelings.
ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) kits for cars, station wagons, and vans provide the complete mechanical and electrical components (including motor, batteries, inverter, and battery management and charging system) as a turn-key FMVSS-compliant solution via the dealer from whom you purchase car services for installed prices that begin at $10,000. With the Federal Tax Credit of $7,500, your net cost would be only $2,500. Drive up to 600 miles between fuel (energy) re-supply stops, which will require <1 hour, and may be as short as 15 min. Isn't this the best way to lower your car costs?
ZET (Zero Emission Truck) kits for ICE pickup trucks, SUVs, CUVs, delivery trucks, heavy trucks, and tractor-trailer trucks provide compete mechanical and electrical components (including motor, batteries, inverter, and battery management and charging system) as a turn-key FMVSS-compliant solution via your truck service shop at attractive prices.
Beyond the vitally important accomplishment of lowering to zero the air pollution associated with transport of people and goods, ZEV and ZET kits can lower your cost of travel to less than one-half (in some cases to one-eighth) of the cost you are paying based on ICE technology (assuming gasoline and diesel fuel cost to be roughly $3/gallon). Even compared to estimates of ICE-Electric hybrids (e.g., Insight and Prius) which cost about 11 cents/mile to operate, ZEV and ZET conversions at <5 cents/mile will allow a further reduction of >50% and will eliminate most oil change, spark plug, alternator, radiator fluid, hoses, and other ICE-specfiic service costs. The $2,500 cost of a complete vehicle ICE to ZEV (or ZET) conversion kit is expected in most cases to be repaid within only months (assuming that you receive a $7,500 Federal Tax Credit) by lowered cost of operation and upkeep. The unprecedented, ultra-efficient use of electrical power in ZEV and ZET are optimized for a long 600 mile range and short (usually less than 1 hour) recharge times thanks to the combination of proprietary ZED and ENVI™ components that were not available even 2 years ago.
Following the experience gained by ZED in the AXP competition, the ZEV and ZET kits will be developed, tested, and optimized to achieve the rigorous aeronautical standards to which ENVI™ vehicles and components are being developed.
Watch this website for developments beginning in late 2009 for reports on milestones and achievements expected for ZEV and ZET kit development and preparations for widespread distribution. The target date for experimental tests in fleets of trucks may be as early as 2010-2011.
